Retirement Advice
In my humble estimation the most important piece of retirement advice is.
"Retire to Something not from Something" Have a plan for a hobby, an interest, and new career (whether you hate your job or love your job -- retirement will be a big change. What does that mean? It means even if you hate your job don't spend all your time dreaming of getting away form it. Formulate your plan to leave it and if you truly formulate your plan to accept the big change coming. Many of us have jobs we can't leave for fear of losing a good pension, or it has great health insurance we be foolish to give up. In a case like that we need basically to bite the bullet and suck it up. But that doesn't mean you can't plan your future! So often folks retire with no plan(and NO money)about how they are going to live in their retirement. Quite often the retirement they dreamed of is just not there. But you can guarantee your retirement enjoyment simply by making sure you are retiring to something. Sadly many North Americans will retire to poverty and despair.
Planning is the Key
Call it what you will:- Financial planning
- Tax Planning
- Retirement Planning
- Life Planning
You need to map out your retirement and the sooner you do that the better. But if you haven't done that and retirement is close. What can you do? Probably best thing you can do is to start your own business. Owning your own business is the dream of millions of North Americans. Yet so few actually do it and retirement is for many people the best time to build a business. You have the knowledge of a life time of experience and if you aren't working you have the time to do it. Owning your own business in retirement just might be the best thing that ever happened to you. Suppose you know you won't have enough money for the retirement you want. What are your choices?: - work years longer?
- hope for a big win in the lottery or at the casino?
- sue Wall street?
The most viable option is an
internet business
My point is--each of us has talents, abilities, knowledge and experience. Other people will pay to have access to. We gained this knowledge through our work, our careers, our hobbies, our interests. Guess what? Retirees have more knowledge than most. The best way get those who want the knowledge to those who have the knowledge is VIA the internet. 95% of the people on the net are searching the net for the advice, products, and services the other 5% are willing to supply. That's your opportunity!
How do you do it?
Dr. Ken EvoyStarted a little company called
SBI---Site Build It
The mission of Site build it was to allow the complete novice a way to succeed with an online business. SBI knows that technical stuff. Children and many retirees have built money-making web sites using SBI! One 14 year old teenage girl (who is now 20) has built the top ranking
Anguilla-web-site
in the world. All about the island of Anguilla. Building your own web business allows you to work at - home
- your own pace
- something you love
Any one can take their accumulated knowledge and experience and put it to work for them. (Update--Site Build It--the system I used to build this web site is now being taught at 25 Universities and Colleges in Canada and the United States.
If you love your work--my retirement advice is--find away to continue it. The internet could be that answer. If you hate your job--my retirement advice is--build an online business about something you enjoy and leave what you hate behind. Either option will enhance your retirement and most likely extend you life. All you need to run an SBI business is: - a computer
- an internet connection
- the desire
Site build it
will show you the rest.Anyone of any age, sex, education, disabled or not disabled, can run an SBI business from their home. To make your golden years-- GOLDEN--you will need some gold!
PS My number one piece of retirement advice. Find a way to walk the Beach every day.
